President's Message

Dear Fellow, Royal College Class of 69’ers,

I am honored to be your newly elected President for the year 2023 and I wish to follow the footsteps of all my predecessors. My sincere appreciation goes out to all the past Ex-Co. and Committee Members who have held various posts, since its formation and who have held the Group together, to date. The new committee and I will strive to honor with their vision, missions and goals.

Although we joined Royal College in the year 1969 and call ourselves as “69ers” we have been together since we joined the then Royal Primary School in 1961. We have been together for almost 62 years as at to date and shall continue for many more years to come.

As the world gets more and more complicated with every passing day, we get involved with our families and work and suddenly we’ve lost touch with the close circle. As each year passes by, we are getting older, and saddled with various commitments, etc., I urge you to continue this unique journey of “togetherness”, in the true sprit of “R-O-Y-A-L” as what we cherished during the school days, which will never come back and be forgotten.

Sadly, during this journey, some of our dear contemporaries’ have faded away and we miss them very much and my heart felt sympathies goes out their families and loved ones. To the rest who are with us, I wish them many more “GOOD BATTING” years to come.

During the tenure of our office, we hope to hold a few “togetherness” in the near future, and we look forward to your participation and support, which will be greatly appreciated.

The website, which is set up, will help to connect, and reconnect and build stronger bonds with our classmates. So, keep visiting our site to know the latest news, views, updates, and the members’ contacts. I extent my invitation, to the 69ers, who are yet to join, please do so and be connected.

In conclusion, I wish to state if there was no Royal College means, there wouldn’t had been a “Royal College, Class of 69ers”. I take this opportunity to thank all our past Principals, Teachers, the Students, and my Co- Classmates who brought pride to the College and wish the present counterparts who are carrying on their duties and responsibilities, all the very best and to keep the “BLUE GOLD AND BLUE FLAG” flying high at all times and stick to the traditions of the College and not to bow down to any pressure under any circumstances and remember, what our school anthem states:-

….. School of our fathers learnt the way before us
Learnt of books and learnt of men, through thee we’ll do the same.
True to our watchword “Disce Aut Disscede”
We will learn of books and men and learn to play the game …..

Thanking You,
Yours Sincerely,

Joe Edwards.
President,
Royal College Class of 69.
